Advising Meeting Thursday, May 22, 2008

Goals:
1. Review revised body paragraphs (those selected by Dani to be problematic)
2. Review re-placement of several paragraphs to earlier in paper
3. REVIEW REVISED CONCLUSION!!!

Accomplished:
1. Conclusion edited on paper and in person
2. Determined a new section to be created: "Limitations of Research" to separate first paragraph from the conclusion
3. highlighted key sentences to be elaborated on or stressed in conclusion

To Do Next Mtg
Look at thesis and make sure it matches perfectly with the conclusion paragraphs (reviewing revisions)

Advising Meeting 5.16

Goals
1. Examing intro and conclusion
2. Look at thesis in connection to conclusion
3. Look at sentence structure and punctuation

Accomplished
1. Discussed new elements to put in conclusion as well as the word choices that need to be thought about in concluding paragraphs
2. Reordered 2 conclusion paragraphs and extracted several "big" ideas that need elaboration
3. Broke up sentences in intro paragraph
4. Discuss conversationality - decided where appropriate

Next Meeting
Examine re-done conclusion, look at any holes after Dr. Valenza has read through revised copy.
